Abstract

For rapid assessment of students’ somatic (physical) health, we used the method of Apanasenko G. L. Physical health assessment system is based on the results of the functional tests with physical activities which allow evaluating the aerobic energy capacity. Research objective: to determine the somatic health level of primary school children with vision deprivation (VD) in special boarding school. Objectives of the research: To set the somatic health level of 6–10 year-old pupils with vision deprivation of a special boarding school; to analyze the complex of morphofunctional indicators; to distribute children with VD into health groups according to scored points. The study involved 135 pupils of 6–10 years old with vision deprivation. Results: it was found out that the boys of 6–8, 10 years old and the girls 6–8 of years old with VD scored from 4–5 points in ascertaining experiment, that determined their physical health level as below average; the boys of 9 years old and the girls of 9– 10 years old with VD scored 6 points that determined their health level as average. With the rapid assessment of somatic (physical) health: 71,1 % of children with VD were assigned to the first health group as children with low health level; 28,9 % of boys and girls with the VD – to the second group as children with average somatic health level. Conclusions. According to the scores 71,1 % of children with VD were assigned to the first health group as sick children that indicated a low somatic health level; 28,9 % of children – up to the second group as children from the «risk group». That suggests: surveyed students with VD poorly adapt to the new learning and education conditions and require more attention of doctors and educators in special boarding school.
