Relevance. Powerlifting is becoming increasingly popular; however, the influence of athletes’ anthropometric characteristics on their performance remains insufficiently studied. Ongoing discussions concern the role of physical parameters such as body mass, body proportions, and limb length in achieving high results in powerlifting, which creates the need to optimize training programmes. Studying the relationship between anthropometric indicators and sports performance will not only improve understanding of the influence of these factors but also enhance the training process, contribute to injury prevention, and increase the overall effectiveness of athletes’ performance. Purpose of the Study was to determine the influence of athletes’ body build on their sports performance and to assess the significance of anthropometric indicators for designing individualized training programmes. Methods and Organization of the Study. A survey of 43 coaches with different levels of professional experience was conducted. The χ² (chi-square) test was used for statistical data analysis. Results and Key Conclusions. The results showed that the main anthropometric characteristics influencing performance are body mass, chest circumference, and arm length. Chest circumference appeared to be the most significant parameter for the bench press, leg length for the squat, and arm length for the deadlift. The mesomorphic component and chest circumference were significant differences between qualified and highly qualified athletes. Despite the importance of anthropometric indicators, coaches do not always use them when individualizing training programmes.
